Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (HARTRON)

The State had felt the need of a Govt. organization which could provide technological solutions required for the industry, academia, administration and governance. This is how HARTRON was established to provide these solutions. In the initial years of 1980’s the focus of corporation was towards providing R&D activities to small scale units from Ambala and Gurgaon centres with equity in few of the Electronic Units. Besides R&D activities the facilities of testing of products and calibration of measuring instruments has been extended to industry of the State. Imparting of training / skilling for the manpower to be industry employable ready has since been a prominent activity of the Hartron.

In 1990’s, the corporation expanded its horizon; big projects like Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) were executed, initially for state of Haryana & thereafter for other states like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Parallelly Hartron started providing IT & IT enabled services, including Digitization of Govt. records, Preparation of Results for Govt. recruiting agencies, Revenue Bill Generation for power utilities, Up-gradation & Modernization of police department etc.

Next from 2000 to 2010, the activities expanded as a chain reaction and numerous projects came out of these activities. The State Govt. designated HARTRON as its nodal department for implementation of these new projects. The projects in which HARTRON is intensely and actively involved are aimed at building of State’s Capacity towards a Simple, Moral, Accountable, Responsive and Transparent (SMART) governance. Various projects like State Wide Area Network (SWAN), Citizen Service Centres (CSC), State Data Centres (SDC), State Service Delivery Gateway(SSDG), SIMCO and Capacity Building (CB) are in place for realization of SMART governance in the state.

Modern Revenue Record Rooms (MRRR) is a state-of-art project of Govt. of Haryana towards Digitalization of records of Revenue department. Hartron has been playing a pivotal role in its implementation.

HARTRON has the honour to be one of the prime driving department for implementation of many flagship programs of GoI like ‘Skill India’ and ‘Digital India’ Programs with a vision to transform India into digitally enabled Nation, ‘Digitally Empowered Society’ and ‘Knowledge Based Economy’ by weaving together a large number of ideas and thoughts into a single, comprehensive vision.

To make these programs ‘a reality’ in State of Haryana; HARTRON has set up various state-of-art platforms like:

  • NASSCOM Startup warehouse
  • Mobile application development centre
  • Mobile application development centre
  • Centre of Excellence for Internet of Things (IOT)
  • CSC academy for training of VLEs
  • Capacity building trainings
  • Hartron Skill Centers (Computer Education and Training)
  • BharatNet Last Mile connectivity (NOFN)
  • United Nation Technology Innovation lab.

Hartron has also initiated a proposal to build on intelligent Buildings/Hi-tech Habitat centres in Electronic City, Gurugram having State of the Art Facilities.

The above stated platforms are unique and of utmost relevance & importance in their respective domains.

“Hartrons Franchise Division vis–a–vis Skill Centers” is one of the earliest initiatives of Hartron and has gone a long way in skilling of masses of Haryana since 1995.

HARTRON SKILL CENTRES

The Hartron had imagined/envisaged/felt the need of computer education & trainings to the youth of State of Haryana so that they could be a resource for need of the industry in general and that of Electronics-Computer industry in particular in wake of onset of liberal economic scene of country in 1991. To realize this imagination, Hartron had setup Hartron Skill Centers hitherto known as Hartron Work Stations. These centres initially catered to the requirements of industry; thereafter, the mandate of the centres was enlarged by establishing more centres to spread the computer/IT culture in the region as to encompass the stake holders - youth, general masses, women, business, govt. departments etc. and has been delivering justifiably since.

These centers uniformly dot entire state of Haryana through their presence in cities / towns of the state. At present the Corporation is running 81 Hartron Skill Centers in the State & Chandigarh. Skill centers have been instrumental in instilling an IT culture in the state including youth, general masses, women, industry, business, govt. departments etc.

Hartron Skill Centres are well equipped and professionally manned centres established at prominent locations of the cities/towns so as to facilitate the students. The physical ambiences of the centre’s are attractive & conducive for the computer/IT learning. Salient features of the HSCs are –
